       Modern dictionaries of the English language already contain a new expression: carbon footprint. A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact of human activities on the environment. I other words, it is the measure of how much CO2 we produce and how much we contribute to climate change. All of us have carbon footprints because we use electricity, we produce waste, we travel by car, bus and plane. All of these activities pollute the planet.

       Some dramatic changes are happening Arctic, Ice caps are melting and the animals that live there are losing their habitat. Wolves and reindeer are disappearing from the Arctic tundra and polar bears are also finding it difficult to find food, because they live and hunt on ice – and the ice is melting. Some scientists say that polar bears may become extinct by the end of the century if we don’t act fast.

       Organic gardens: this is the new trend in many American schools. Supporters of this idea say the benefits of school organic gardens are numerous; they encourage the kids to eat more healthily they teach the kids about nature and home economics, they help create stronger social groups.
